and counting…
Love, security, warmth, and comfort.
Each handmade blanket is a tangible reminder to a child that they are cared for by their community.
Provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
Provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization guided by the National Project Linus Organization (www.projectlinus.com) and depend solely on our volunteers and donations. Our chapter location is new and anticipates making a strong impact in Manatee County.

Make a blanket with love and care.
Please follow these general guidelines for blankets donated through the Manatee County Chapter.
General Guidelines
- Please triple check for pins.
- No pet hair, dander, mildew, mold, or odors due to allergies.
- No wool or wool blend fabrics/yarn due to allergies.
- No add-ons such as gems, tassels, ribbons, or buttons that can be easily removed and pose a choking hazard.
- For knitted or crocheted blankets, consider using a tighter weave for smaller blankets for infants/toddlers to help prevent injury to fingers and toes.
- If tying quilts, please use embroidery thread rather than yarn for extra security.
- Please do not tie infant quilts.
